*Disclaimer - When the metal antenna in the RFID tags is in contact with metal or glass, the signal gets scrambled and therefore cannot get picked up by the RFID Reader. These tags are padded so that there is a buffer between the metal or glass object and the embedded antenna. If you sandwich metal and glass the signal also gets scrambled and cannot get picked up by the reader.
